If you have a PDF document, particularly a long one, there are two ways to generate an HTML version for incorporation in the the website. HTML is preferred because the built-in Google Translate function can handle it without any extra processing.
- Option 1 – Open PDF in Adobe Acrobat and export it as an HTML web page. Cut and paste the html file contents into a standard paragraph authoring block in the website. This works for smaller files, but it can be unsatisfactory if the PDF is long or if it contains complex formatting. It also requires a licensed version of Adobe Acrobat.
- Option 2 – Export from the PDF to Rich Text Format (.rtf), import it into MS Word and then cut and paste it into the web authoring tool. This does the best job of preserving the spirit of the original PDF formatting.
